Most of the management cadres of our company have not formed the habit of reading, calculating and using data, which has a certain relationship with the overall business environment of Wenzhou. Most private enterprises in Wenzhou do not pay attention to data for the following three reasons: first, it is related to Chinese cultural tradition. China's 5000 years old culture is an agricultural culture. It likes to be reasonable and is not used to talking with data. In the feudal society, the emphasis on the industry has always been scholars, farmers, industry and commerce. Even in the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, business did not occupy a place among the hundreds of families. Even all dynasties have more or less policies to suppress business. Until the Western powers knocked on the door with foreign guns and guns, the Chinese began to pay attention to science and technology and arithmetic. Second, it is related to the starting culture of the enterprise. Wenzhou private enterprises start from small workshops. The boss runs business and manages the factory, and the landlady manages finance and money. Because the enterprise is small, the boss looks at the following work at a glance. The boss and his wife only care about whether there are new deposits in the bank account every year. They don't pay much attention to some detailed data, such as asset liability ratio, capital turnover rate, inventory turnover rate, per capita output value, wage cost, auxiliary material cost and other indicators to measure the economic situation of the enterprise. Third, Related to the customer groups served. In the early stage of development of Wenzhou enterprises, most customers are three types of customers. More than a decade ago, few customers came to talk about cooperation with us with statements or data. When a customer complains, you only need to make a phone call or send an email. Knowing it with emotion and moving it with reason can basically quell the customer's dissatisfaction. In recent years, with the development of economy and the transformation of customer base, more and more first and second types of customers speak through statements and data. If we can't keep pace with the times, we can't maintain good customer relations. At the same time, with the development and growth of the enterprise, we need advanced management mechanism and rigorous operation logic to standardize the internal management of the enterprise. We need scientific financial indicators and objective analysis statements to reflect the real business situation of the enterprise.

Data is the best embodiment of the results. How well you perform your duties depends not on how hard you work, but on your performance through data. For example, business order receiving depends not on how busy you are, but on whether your order receiving output value meets the standard. If you don't receive an order, all your work is futile. How can you say that your responsibilities have been fulfilled in place? If the matching rate of materials is low and can’t meet the matching quantity required by the production workshop, how can you say that the work has produced value? If the inspection pass rate of the special line is low and the delivery date cannot reach the target value set by the customer, how can you say that your work has been done in place? Work performance does not depend on telling stories, nor can it be subjective, but should be reflected by objective data.
Look at problems through data.
Looking at problems through data is like a physical examination. The data in the physical examination report can see whether your body is healthy, such as blood pressure, blood lipid, blood glucose and uric acid. The normal blood pressure of adults is 80-120mmhg; The normal range of total cholesterol in adult blood lipid is 2.8-5.17 mmol / L, triglyceride is 0.56-1.7 mmol / L, high-density lipoprotein is more than 1.04 mmol / L, and low-density lipoprotein is less than 3.12 mmol / L; The normal value of fasting blood glucose in normal adults is between 3.9-6.1 mmol / L; If it is not within the scope of this standard, it belongs to three high or sub-health. When the blood uric acid is less than 420umol / L, it is normal, and more than 420umol / L, it belongs to hyperuricemia, and gout symptoms will appear. Whether the body is healthy or not can't be judged by self feeling well or by ruddy complexion, but by physical examination data; Whether there are deficiencies in the work, we should also look at the problem through the operation data.
Look at the trend through the data.
In terms of management, we can analyze whether our work has made progress through some reports and trend charts, and judge whether the future trend is better through the year-on-year or month on month comparison of historical and current data. If we act and work hard, but the trend does not get better and the work does not make progress, the result is still not what we want.
Calculate data
The company requires high-level cadres to be enterprising. Enterprising is to have business thinking and pay attention to profit and loss. To analyze the current situation and find problems through financial data, we must first know what the formula of the data is and where the data comes from. For example, the calculation formula of the ratio of wages to output value is: the total wages paid by a production unit in a certain period divided by the total output value created in this period, and then multiplied by 100%. For example, labor cost refers to the sum of all direct and indirect expenses paid by enterprises for the use of workers in the production, operation and provision of labor services in a certain period of time. As a manager, we should not only learn to use formulas to calculate the achievement of business results, but also know the context of the data. Therefore, the company requires the surrounding departments responsible for providing data to teach the production department how to calculate the data. For example, the finance department is organized to provide professional financial knowledge training to the production unit every year, and the person in charge of the production unit is allowed to apply financial knowledge in practical work and improve the work with financial data; At the same time, the company asked the human resources department, the leading department of performance appraisal, to explain the data extraction nodes and calculation methods of various key indicators to the assessed unit or individual.
Use data
Looking at and calculating data, the ultimate goal is to use data, find out the direction of improvement through data, and formulate corresponding improvement measures to solve problems and predict the future.
Predict whether the enterprise operation can continue through data. For example, predict whether Plan B or plan C in the ark plan needs to be started through the existing load and order receiving trend, and predict how much manpower and material resources need to be allocated in the future. Predict how many orders can be received in the next few months through the number of development samples, hit rate of new products, average order quantity of each shelf and other data.
Through data to evaluate whether the achievement meets the standard, we should use objective data to evaluate the achievement of a production unit or a person, such as using the achievement results of KPI indicators to evaluate whether the achievement of a department meets the expectations and whether a person is competent for the work.
Estimate whether the demand can be met through data. For example, the monthly plan is used to predict how much income employees can get this month or whether they can get the budgeted salary. If not, we should adjust the strategy in time.
The data seems cold, but it can objectively and truly reflect the current situation and predict the future. We should look at the results, problems and trends through data. And learn to use formulas to calculate operation results and understand the context behind the data. More importantly, use data, that is, find problems through data, and formulate improvement measures or adjust business strategies.
