At the morning meeting of all cadres on January 15, 2022, Mr. Wang asked several executives to share their understanding of the enterprise mission, and took this as an introduction to explain the internal meaning of the enterprise mission “to become a positive force to change the world's perception of Chinese people, Chinese products and Chinese enterprises”.

Our company is a foreign trade enterprise. Most orders come from foreign markets. It can be said that we deal with foreign customers by email, telephone, video conference and other means every day. Frequent contacts with customers around the world have created convenient conditions for us to change their understanding of China. We should make full use of this image window that show the Chinese people, Chinese products and Chinese enterprises, let them experience and know the good side of the Chinese people, Chinese products and Chinese enterprises from practical cooperation, and let the people of the world know and understand China Objectively evaluate China.

Change cognition through people

Russell, known as “Mr. de” and “Mr. Sai” in the 20th century, once commented on the shortcomings of the Chinese people “cowardice, indifference and greed”. In his book the ugly Chinese, Bo Yang of Taiwan strongly criticized the Chinese people's “dirty, chaotic, noisy”, “fighting in the dark”, “unable to unite”, “never admit their mistakes” and so on. Lu Xun has ten criticisms on the Chinese people: numbness and ignorance, cowardice, bullying the soft and afraid of the hard, refusing to change, the numb is the winner, pinning hope on the future, paranoia, Schadenfreude, individualism, pedantry and meanness. Even in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, the Japanese and Western powers called China the “sick man of East Asia”. Although these comments have a strong brand of the times, they also reflect that some Chinese people have certain bad roots. Through the rendering of Western media, the people of the world (especially western countries) think that the Chinese people are a group of people with low quality. So that before 2010, western countries had strong discrimination against mainlanders. When passing through the customs, the passports of Japan, South Korea or European and American countries are released quickly at a glance, but once they see that the passports are mainland people, they will be repeatedly checked. On one occasion, the boss of a peer enterprise in Wenzhou who was on a business trip with me was detained for more than four hours when passing through the customs. Some entrepreneurs even wanted to go to the United States and were refused to sign and renew their passports for a long time. Why are our normal businessmen repeatedly checked, detained and refused to sign passports? Because western countries are afraid that we will not come back when we arrive in their country, they suspect that we are stowaways. Although I think I've always been honest and upright, I feel flustered every time I travel to Europe and the United States to go through customs. In recent years, with the enhancement of China's national strength and international influence, the Customs has never encountered the above events after business trip. When we go abroad on business, we often see Chinese people eating loudly in public places abroad, eating instant noodles in hotel rooms, and making the room messy and smelly when leaving the hotel. It is often seen that warnings such as “do not urinate anywhere” and “please urinate near the urinal” are pasted in the bathroom of foreign hotels in Chinese. Garbage and sewage can be seen everywhere in Chinatown and other Chinese settlements in western countries. Objectively speaking, these bad behaviors of Chinese people abroad have also affected the citizens of western countries' cognition of Chinese people. So, how to change the world people's perception of the Chinese people? I think I should start with myself. Every time I go abroad on business trip, I remind my team members and colleagues on business trip to clean the room and fold the quilt neatly when leaving the hotel... Through these bit by bit infiltration and changes in daily behavior, people all over the world feel that our quality is improving. At the same time, the company is committed to building an honest, trustworthy, standard and rule-based team within the enterprise. I hope every member of our team should be a Chinese with a sense of mission, a Chinese with knowledge and self-restraint. No matter when and where, everything we do can't disgrace our motherland.

Change cognition through products.

Our company produces more than 15 million pairs of glasses every year. Two thirds of our products are exported to the United States and one third of our products are exported to Europe. If people change a pair of glasses every three years, almost 40 million people buy our products every year, and every pair of glasses we export will be printed with "made in China". I often tell our team that the glasses we make must be stable and firm; and there shall be no problems such as desoldering, plating loss, hinge or slingshot failure to open. We should not cut corners because of cost savings... Before 2005, some customers asked to print made in Japan, made in Germany or made in Italy on their glasses when talking about cooperation with us, but I refused. Why do customers require made in Japan, made in Germany or made in Italy? First, consumers have personally experienced the products made in these countries. Second, through the word-of-mouth of consumers or media reports, the products made in these countries have a good reputation, and their products have been recognized in the public mind or in the market. If the quality of the more than 15 million by-products we make every year is reliable, can be recognized by consumers, and can get a good reputation, then we have contributed a lot to changing the world's perception of Chinese products. Once A009 guest told me that the glasses purchased in our company for about $2 are better than the products purchased from Japan and South Korea for $5-6.Hearing the words of the customer, my heart is full of pride.

At the 2017 New Year's Day party, I once said“we must make a product that we are proud of”. We should realize that making a good pair of glasses is also patriotic and win glory for the country. Look at the glasses we make,most of them are printed with“made in China”. We sell not only glasses, but also our country's manufacturing reputation. When consumers buy our glasses, if they wear them comfortably and the quality is firm, their attitude towards Chinese products will change. In this way, while making a living, we have actually done something for our motherland.

Change cognition through enterprises

When talking about cooperation with us, some customers asked whether our company has or plans to hire Hong Kong people, Taiwanese and Japanese to manage the enterprise. Every time I answer no, because I think our team is no worse than Hong Kong, Taiwan and the Japanese. We have the ability to manage our own enterprises well. OuHai glasses is one of many Chinese enterprises. Maybe we can't change other enterprises, but we can do better. I hope that our enterprises will have less ideology and empiricism, and more focus, standardization, precision, perfectionism, orderism and thick spirit possessed by German enterprises. I hope our team can win the competitive advantage and the respect of customers in terms of price, delivery time, quality, R & D and comprehensive service by improving business ability, delivery ability, R & D ability, quality control ability, manufacturing ability and team ability. I also believe that a single spark can start a prairie fire, and more entrepreneurs with a sense of mission will lead the team to work with us to change the world's perception of Chinese enterprises.

The company raises the national flag every Monday morning, pastes the corporate mission on the outer wall next to the fountain, and requires the management cadres to reflect on which work they have done in the past week is to add points to the corporate mission and which work is to reduce points. The purpose is to stimulate the patriotic feelings of employees. In fact, it is patriotic to train employees into well-trained thoughts and behaviors, make products well, get the recognition of people all over the world, manage enterprises in an orderly manner and keep promises to customers. I hope you will seriously understand the true connotation of the corporate mission of“becoming a positive force to change the world's perception of Chinese people, Chinese products and Chinese enterprises”, and take the mission to realize our common dream.
