On July 31, 2020, at the morning meeting of all cadres, Mr. Wang Fenghua, the general manager, asked Qi Fei, deputy general manager of production, Cheng Guanmeng, manager of plate assembly and Lai Zhen, plastic injection manager, to share their experience of on-site management of 6S. Taking this as an introduction, the core of implementing 6S is to improve the quality and execution of employees


As early as 2000, the company introduced 6S management activities into Ouhai's daily management work, and in 2013, the company positioned "discipline, health and culture" as Ouhai's three treasures. Although 6S activity has been carried out in Ouhai for nearly 20 years, we still can't put the goods in order, fix the location and mark clearly on the production site, the workshop environment is not up to the bright windows and clean walls, and the staff's work habits are not "well-trained". From these phenomena, we can see that the core management concept "literacy" of 6S has not yet taken root in the enterprise. What is the root cause? I think it's the lack of understanding of the significance and importance of 6S on-site management by the management cadres, and the problems in the implementation attitude of 6S site management. In the future 6S management process, we should strengthen the understanding in the following two aspects.

The core of 6S management is to improve the quality of employees

The contents of 6S management include: sorting, rectifying, cleaning, cleaning, safety and quality. Among them, the quality is the most core content, the ultimate goal of 6S management is to train the employees to be qualified employees who abide by discipline and rules. The company often has some new and old customers to inspect and visit, new customer representatives will generally go to the production line to understand the production process, quality control process, the spirit of employees and other information. Perhaps what customers see during the visit is some superficial phenomena, but through these appearances, we can reflect the management level of an enterprise. As I often say to you, "products are like people's character". Customers believe that "an employee with good mental outlook and comprehensive quality can guarantee the products produced; an enterprise with well managed production site can increase their trust.". A customer visiting a factory is like a rural blind date in the 1980s and 1990s. After the blind date, the parents of the woman will go to the man's place to learn about the environment of the man's home, whether the parents are filial to their elders, and whether they are harmonious with their neighbors. Through this information, we can judge the background and upbringing of the man's family, and also provide reference for the daughter's future marriage to the man's happiness. For our enterprise, on the one hand, we should create a safe, comfortable and bright working and living environment for employees through 6S management; on the other hand, we should improve the comprehensive quality of employees through education and training and 6S activities, so as to create a good image of the enterprise.


Grasp the executive power first from 6S

"Zhu Zi's family precepts" says that "the dawn will rise, and the court will be swept away.". I remember when I was a child, the first thing my grandfather did in the morning was to clean the room and courtyard; every evening when he came back from the field, he washed the hoe in the pond in front of the house, and then hung the hoe on the fixed beam outside the house. These simple behavior habits are "cleaning and fixed management" in 6S management activities. 6S management seems to be some daily small things, but whether these daily work is well grasped reflects the strength of a department's execution. For example, the shelves of the same type and different colors are placed on the same assembly line of the plate assembly line, the material accumulation often occurs on the assembly line of the welding workshop, the materials in the warehouse are often not put on the shelf in time, and the stools of employees who leave their posts are often found not to return to their original positions. The ancients said, "if you don't sweep a house, why sweep the world?" If you can't do the small work well, how can you do the big thing? A qualified manager should do the simple work well. There is a famous management saying: "if you do complex things simply, you are an expert; if you do simple things repeatedly, you are an expert; if you do repetitive things carefully, you will be the winner." No matter what you do, no matter how small, no matter what you don't need any skills and abilities, you should always do it in a down-to-earth manner. It's easy to do a thing or a job well, but it's hard to do the seemingly ordinary things well every moment. Therefore, in order to strengthen the executive power, we must first grasp the 6S site and other daily management work in place and thoroughly.


Since June this year, the company has assigned the planning, training and supervision of 6S to the human resources department, hoping to make a breakthrough under the leadership of the human resources department, implement the work of 6S management in practice, and create a new trend of "well-trained behavior, well-trained thought and well-trained culture" in the enterprise.
